Headlining this years Camp Bestival in Dorset on 29 July 2012
2012 sees the band reform their original line up of Shaun and Paul Ryder, Gary Whelan, Mark Day, Paul Davis, Rowetta and that man Bez for the first time in 19 years.
Discovered by the legendary Tony Wilson through the Haçienda they became the flag bearers of the baggy movement ensuring that the eighties went out with a bang after the bland pop and faux new romanticism that the middle of the decade had served up, for a time Manchester became the centre of the musical universe down in no small way to this band of wideboys, chancers and musical geniuses.
Shaun Ryder: “Me and the band are mega excited to be playing at Camp Bestival. We have heard the crowd are amazing, and we will definitely put on a great show.”
From Step On to Kinky Afro, Hallelujah to 24 Hour Party People expect the Castle Field to be transformed into the biggest party the festival has ever seen, trust us your melons will be twisted!
